This is not a political blog but we do think we have a sense of humor.

Joe the Plumber is a Network Solutions customer. No, not THAT “Joe the Plumber” from Ohio, but JoeThePlumber.com from Texas.

To give you some background if you don’t know the story:

If you are following politics and the election process here in the United States, this week there was an interesting interaction between Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, and a plumber from Ohio named Joe Wurzelbacher. He is a small business owner and asked a very direct question about being a business owner and working hard to Senator Obama about ”why does he get to tax him if he is successful and makes more than $250,000 a year”? Senator Obama’s answer has generated a tremendous amount of debate including being a central topic of last night’s presidential debate.

Here is the video so you can see the question and response in its unbiased entirety:

When we searched our customer database this morning we found out that Joe the Plumber from Texas is a Network Solutions customer. We know he is probably seeing a spike in traffic because people will just type a phrase and see if it hits a domain name.

Advice from the Network Solutions Team:

Joe, as your friendly neighborhood domain provider, we would like to recommend that you leverage this inevitable spike in traffic and add some excellent Search Engine Marketing services and maybe even consider putting some ads on your site.

We thank you for being a loyal Network Solutions customer and we hope this 15 minutes of some else’s fame might actually bring some serious traffic (and maybe cash!) your way, but at the very least some new customers.

Did Joe the Plumber get a bailout? With all the banks, auto co's and mortgage companies receiving money at least Joe should get some for doing his part in raising the awareness of the Presidential election
