Week in Review Segment:
Joe Loong:
More on companies using Twitter for customer service — beyond scalability. Twitter is the hip thing because of the immediacy, but don’t forget keeping an eye on blogs, photos, etc posted about your company and products.

Jill Foster:
Over at Women Grow Business, great and encouraging conversations have involved creating online community for your organization and even launching success from unemployment. One entrepreneur told her story on how leaving her day job and confronting tough challenges led to a fantastic new business, SundayCosmetics.

Business Tips Segment:
Jill Foster:
Social media meetups can be an apt forum to learn and test out new tech for your company-more on last night’s DC Media Makers meeting.

Joe Loong:
More free social media promotion tools and tips for your business (riffing on the blog entry planned on the same topic).

Steve Fisher:
Outsource to a Virtual Assistant to save money
Virtual Assistants, also known as VA’s, have been around for more than 10 years and in this day and age, utilize the technology era. They are highly qualified, experienced business owners who basically do the same work as a typical Secretary, Personal Assistant and Office Administrator combined. A VA completes your projects or tasks at his or her home office, using his or her own equipment, and carries out the work through email, fax, telephone and postal service. Therefore, the location of your VA is not important.

Outsourcing to a Virtual Assistant is an excellent tip to save business owners money. In addition to no overhead, they work by the hour and by the project, so there are no employee expenses such as benefits or payroll taxes. As the Virtual Assistant industry gains more recognition, business owners may find this a useful resource, http://vanetworking.com/blog/.

      Deborah,

I agree and I am looking forward to engaging a VA in the near future. Thanks for the thoughtful comment and the link so I can research further and have all my options in front of me.

Great topic. I am a virtual assistant who's made it my business to support entrepreneurs in growing their business. With the turn in the economy many are just discovering that VAs can bring highly skilled specialized expertise to a business that can really add a boost to business growth and efficiency.

I noticed the comment about the broken VAnetworking.com link and happen to a member of this global organization. The correct link is http://www.vanetworking.com/blog. While at the VAnetworking.com be sure to check out the free ebook about working with a VA http://www.vanetworking.com/find-a-virtual-assi…
