In the United States, roughly 1 in 33 babies are born with a birth defect, which is the leading cause of death in the first year of life.. Each year, the March of Dimes raises money and awareness for the prevention of premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality by way of its March for Babies events.
Network Solutions participates by organizing teams of walkers throughout the United States – we are currently in 3rd place in the 2010 Fairfax County March for Babies Top Ten list. And this year we’ve also created a new way to let you join the fight right along with us. We’re sponsoring an online drawing contest based on our “Support the March for Babies” theme.
While you can find all of the details on our March of Dimes page, the concept is fun and simple. Create a drawing (trust me, artistic skills are NOT required) and ask your friends and family to vote for it. The drawing that receives the most votes, will earn $1 per vote (up to $10,000) for the Maryland National Capital Area Chapter of the March of Dimes! It’s that easy.
And, if you’re already walking in the Maryland National Capital’s March for Babies, the donation total will be credited to your March for Babies team!.
Drawings can be submitted until Friday, April 2nd and voting will take place for an extra week – concluding on Friday, April 9th. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, April 14th.
