
A hashtag is keyword that connects various pieces of content and helps people easily find the content by searching for the hashtag.
The definition from Twitter whose users use hashtags to connect Twitter conversations “The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages.”
Today we are at the Small Business Summit 2011 and people talking about the conference on sites like Twitter are encouraged to use the hashtag #smallbizsummit. Here are some uses of how people are using the hashtag:
