Network Solutions has been participating in SOBcon since 2008. SOBcon, organized by Liz Strauss and Terry Starbucker, has the theme – “Virtual meets the concrete”. Two and a half days of strategies and tactics focused on merging your online and offline worlds into a successful business. The conference takes place in Chicago and the combined knowledge in the room is powerful enough for mutual learning and experience sharing.

Network Solutions is glad to be a Sponsor of SOBCon this year and please say hello to Navin Ganeshan, Lisa Byrne and myself if you are going to be in attendance this year. A few of us are planning to meet for dinner on Saturday 30th April, Watch the #sobcon hastag for more details.  There is also a Sobcon group on Groupme, if you would like to be on that please DM @shashib or email me yiur cell phone number (a good text plan is recommended).

One of my first “Virtual meets the concrete” was meeting Todd Jordan at the first SOBCon that I attended. Walking with Lorelle Van Fossen and Katie Paine through countless Chicago streets in search of Thai food. Meeting Business Success Guru David Bullock as a social media newbie (we interviewed him on this blog). Taking pictures of Chris Garrett and of course adding 100-150 friends were all highlight of attending SOBCon.  I am looking forward to meeting old friends Becky McCray, Sheila Scarborough, Carol Roth, Beth Rosen, Estrella Rosenberg, Barry Moltz, Joel Libava, Zana Weist, and many others who are not listed here but nevertheless dear to my heart.

Along with talks and sharing of experience there is usually a master mind  after session with each table working and using the knowledge that they gained. See this recap from Steve Fisher for more details: SOBcon: Business School for Bloggers event recap.

The conference is aptly described by Lorelle Van Fossen in this WordCast post:

      Thanks for this post, Shashi.

I consider you a good friend, too.

It’s really amazing; there’s this group of people who share their lives online-good people, and I’m honored and humbled to be associated with them-with you, and many, many others who impact me. A lot.

So excited to attend my first #Sobcon. My expectations are high. I’m expecting it to be a game-changer for my business.
