Network Solutions Acquisition by Web.com Completed

We are happy to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of Network Solutions by Web.com. This change will positively benefit Network Solutions & Web.com customers given the increased capabilities and assets of the combined company.

In a press release David Brown, chairman and chief executive officer of Web.com said:

I was curious regarding the services I have been paying for for years with NS (I have been a customer since 2005) when I learned today that:
1) I have been charged $91 for a period of no less than three years above the service that I needed
2) That i have been paying for a domain with NS since I first registered with your service that should have come for free with the hosting service I have been paying for
3) That the emailservice that I should have been paying for cost $29.98 at GoDaddy compared to the $84.75 you want to charge me
4) That the website hosting service that you want to charge me $175 costs $51.48 at GoDaddy
* not to mention that the GoDaddy hosting service is infinitely better than yours.

When I asked the phone support person if there is something NS would do for a customer that has been with you for more then six years and has wasted hundreds of dollars on services I did not need – the answer was NO.

On Mon (11/07) I will switch to GoDaddy if you cannot offer me some type of refund.

here is the post I just put on Facebook and I plan to propagate everywhere I can on the Web.

Network Solutions vs. GoDaddy
* Network Solutions has charged me for six years at ~$100 / a year for a domain that should have been free with the $175 / hosting package I paid for.
* A comparable 5 email hosting package at GoDaddy costs $29 / a year compared to $84 / year at GoDaddy
* A website package at GoDaddy costs $51 / year compared with $175 at Network Solutions
(FYI GD’s website builder is MUCH better)

When I asked Network Solutions if there is something they would like to do to reimburse me for the hundreds of dollars I have wasted over the years with them the answer was – NO.

Lesson – don’t waste your money with Network Solutions – use GoDaddy.

Too bad this has totally RUINED your company. I was very happy with Network Solutions…..until this year. Nothing but problems!!!!!!!! What a shame.
