Great post Steve! When I was consulting I spend hours in front of the computer screen and it zapped all my energy and creativity, as well as expanded my backend (to my horror). Then I started getting up 45 minutes earlier in the morning so I could take a 30 minute walk before the day began and the rest of my family started getting ready for the day. It made all the difference in my work as well as my attitude. After walking every other morning for a month, it became part of my regular routine and now it’s not hard to roll out of bed and be on my way – rain or shine.

Any movement (as well as cutting out empty calories) that you can incorporate into your day is beneficial -- taking the stairs, parking further away from the office entrance, getting up and walking around the room when you're on a conference call, drinking water instead of soda, eating crunchy veggies instead of chips etc. It not only helps keep you healthy, it can re-energize your thinking.

Glad to hear you're back on the rails ... guess we'll be calling you the incredibly shrinking man?!

One should be healthy & for this some time should be reserved completely for his health. Even if work load is high, but health should never be neglected.
