4 Useful Facebook Small Business Site Updates

August 31st, 2012 ::

Earlier this summer, Facebook launched an updated Business site for small and medium-sized businesses that includes a slew of great new resources. Here’s a rundown of what you’ll find:

Best practices: There’s nothing better than a company telling you exactly how to succeed with their product or service, and Facebook does just that with their guide, Four Steps to Business Success on Facebook.  This is a highly detailed guide that includes tips, best practices and step-by-step instructions.

Success stories: I love learning from others’ experiences, and these stories – for Luxury Link, Hubspot, Canvas People and State Bicycle Co. – detail goals and approach and include an overview of results. Luxury Link, for example, saw a 100 percent increase in sales for travel packages.

Advertising: Need help putting together Facebook ads? Their Start to Success program includes 4 weeks of free phone support, customized solutions, and a $50 coupon to get started.

What’s new: As they say right on the page, this section keeps you up-to-date with news, product launch updates, etc.  The latest news includes:

  • Facebook Web address update: If you haven’t already customized your Facebook Web address, now’s your chance to do so.
  • Voice Bar: To ensure you keep your activity on your business page and personal account separate, this bar at the top of Facebook will tell you if you’re commenting, posting and liking as yourself or your business.
  • Facebook Marketing Classroom: Every other week, a webinar will feature a new topic, ranging from general marketing to product launches.

Now you have no excuse not to succeed using Facebook!  Which of their new features do you find some useful, and why?  Leave a comment below.
