Network Solutions® SSL Certificates

Network Solutions® offers the ability to purchase your own SSL Certificate thru Network Solutions.  If you purchase a Network Solutions SSL certificate to go along with your Network Solutions Web Hosting package once you are validated your SSL will be installed automatically.

3rd Party SSL Certificates

To install a 3rd Party SSL Certificate to a Web Hosting or NsCommerce™ Space Package please contact Network Solutions Technical Support at 1.866.391.HELP and provide the below information.

·         Organization (e.g. Company Name)

·         Organization Unit (e.g. Operations/Sales)

·         Common name (e.g.

·         Country/Region (e.g. United States)

·         State/Province (No Abbreviations)

·         City/Locality

·         What encryption the certificate should be

Once this information is provided we will escalate the request for a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) to the appropriate department.  Once your request is processed you will receive an email with a copy of the CSR.

Once you receive your CSR you can take it to any SSL Certificate provider. They will validate your information and issue you a certificate. When you receive the SSL certificate please send it to . Once Network Solutions receives the certificate it will be installed on the server.

You will also be given a new IP for your secure domain name. Network Solutions will update your domain name’s DNS so that your secure domain name points to the new IP.

Shared SSL Certificate

Your Network Solutions Web Hosting Package also has the ability to utilize a shared SSL certificate to create a secure version (https://) of your URL.  

1.    Go to

2.    Click the Manage Account tab at the top right corner of your screen.

3.    Enter the User ID and password you created during your Web hosting purchase. If you've forgotten your log-in information, please visit:

4.    Click on My Products & Services tab.

5.    Click on the My Hosting Packages hyperlink.  If you have more than one Web Hosting package, select the package you need to update.

6.    Click on the Web Hosting Toolbox button

7.  Scroll down to the Security section and click on the Shared SSL icon

7.    Click on the Enable button and note the SSL Directory provided, then click on the OK button

Once you have enabled the Shared SSL Certificate, you can use your FTP software to upload the page that you want to be secure to the SSL Directory that was provided.

The SSL Certificate ensures that visitors to your Web site will have enhanced validation of your security and a confidence in the real identity of your Web site.

Note:  Please remember to reference your secure files using https:// (with the s) in order to initiate the secure session.
