Emails from CIRA

You must establish an account at the .ca registry (CIRA) to complete the set up of your .ca domain name. You will receive an email from CIRA after registering your .ca domain name with your CIRA user ID and temporary password and the URL where you must go to set up your CIRA account. You must set up an account with CIRA within 7 days of registering your .ca domain name. Failure to do so will result in your .ca domain name being deleted. Your .ca domain name will not resolve until you set up your CIRA account. Once you set up your account you will receive an email from CIRA with your permanent password.

CIRA also requires that you log in to your CIRA account to approve critical changes to your .ca domain name and associated account information. Critical changes include but are not limited to:

·         Changes to your address and contact information

·         Changes to your Canadian Presence Type

Finally, CIRA will periodically send you email regarding your .ca domain name and your CIRA account, for example renewal notices, any applicable policy changes, etc.

Complete .ca domain name registration/CIRA account set up

Go to https://registrants.cira.ca/user within seven days of registering your .ca domain name and log in with your CIRA user ID and temporary password. You will be requested to accept or reject the CIRA Registrant Agreement, confirm your contact information, and choose if you want to assign Change Without Authorization ability to Network Solutions®.
Note: if you reject the CIRA Registrant Agreement your .ca domain name will be deleted.

Confirm your account information

CIRA may request that you confirm the accuracy of the information provided when you registered your .ca domain name. CIRA will send you an email requesting that you log in to your CIRA account to confirm or update your registration information (i.e., address, Canadian Presence Type, etc.). You must confirm/update this information within 30 days of receiving the email otherwise your .ca domain name(s) may be suspended.

Confirm the change to your Canadian Presence Type

If you update your Canadian Presence Type via the Network Solutions Account Manager, CIRA will send you an email requesting that you log in to your CIRA account to confirm this change. If you do not approve this change within seven days the change will be null and void at CIRA.
