Account Contacts

Explanation of Account Contacts

Account Contacts have permission to manage various aspects of your accounts. They can keep your account up-to-date, add new products and services, configure services, and assign Account access. The Account Holder (Registrant) and Primary Contact can add or revoke the permissions of an Account Contact at any time.

  1. Account Holder (Registrant)

  3. Administrative Contact
  4. Technical Contact

Note If you have an individual account, the Account Holder and Primary Contact will be the same. If you have a business account, the Account Holder is typically the company and the Primary Contact is the individual responsible for the account.

Every account has an Account Holder and Primary Contact. You also have the option to set up Administrative and Technical Contacts to have access to your account. While these Administrative and Technical Contacts set up through Network Solutions® have permissions to manage services, the Administrative and Technical contacts as designated in the domain name's WHOIS record do not have authority to manage your account, unless you also designate them as Network Solutions Account Contacts.

The following chart details the permissions associated with each Account Contact type.

  • On Individual (Personal) type accounts, the Account Holder is the Primary Contact.
  • On Organization (Business) type accounts, the Account Holder assigns a Primary Contact as the legal representative with full authority to act on behalf of the Account Holder to manage the account.
  • Organization Account Holders have no access privileges on the account.
