FrontPage Search Finds Pages That Have Been Deleted
Note: Microsoft FrontPage extensions are no longer available on new accounts, because they are no longer supported by Microsoft.
FrontPage maintains pointers to the Web site pages created within the software. It often “finds” these deleted pages because the pointer to that page remains until the links are recalculated.
To resolve this issue, you need to recalculate your hyperlinks:
- Open your FrontPage software
- Click on Tools in the main menu and select Recalculate Hyperlinks
- Refresh the search page in the browser and perform the search again
- If the problem is not solved, you can force the recalculation of hyperlinks by finding and deleting the following files:
Deptodoc.btr
Doctodep.btr.
a. Next select the folder _vti_txt and delete the following files:
· All.dct
· All.doc
· All .fmt
· All.fn
· All.hl
· All.idx
· All.inv
· All.src
b. Then recalculate the hyperlinks using the same method as above
