nsMail Pro Quick Start Guide

Get Familiar with Webmail

When deciding if you would rather use our included webmail interface or if you would rather use one of your favorite email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird or Mac Mail, we think it would be helpful to let you know what all you can do in webmail.

In addition, here is a helpful flash video containing similar information.

 

Webmail Home Page

Your webmail home page will look similar to this. There are several key components to note, which are listed just below this image.

  • Webmail Toolbar
    • In the upper left corner, indicated by smaller images, you will see a toolbar that includes options to navigate between:
      • Home Page
      • Inbox
      • Calendar
      • Address Book / Contacts
      • Task List
      • Infostore / Document Manager
      • Configuration
  • Folder List
    • Just beneath the toolbar, you will see a list of current folders within your mailbox.
  • Calendar
    • Your calendar is always within reach. By default, your calendar will always be displayed in the same spot with each login.

  • InfoBox / Used Space
    • With 2GB of space in each of our nsMail Pro mailboxes, even our heaviest users will be able to constantly see the up-to-date usage information so they constantly organize as needed.
  • Action Bar
    • With plenty of space always spanning across more than two-thirds of the page, this is the place where you will be able take action on your messages, calendar items or any other item.
  • Main Window
    • This window will change based on the navigation your choose.

Webmail Toolbar

Your webmail toolbar will look similar to this.

Starting from left right, the navigation within this box is:

  • Home Page
  • Inbox
  • Calendar
  • Address Book / Contacts
  • Task List
  • InfoStore / Document Manager
  • Configuration

 

  • Home Page 
    • You will be able to return to your home page at any point while navigation through webmail.
  • Inbox
    • Clicking this image will take you directly to your inbox. From there, you will be able to manage your messages, from opening new meesages to organizing your messages.
  • Calendar
    • Clicking this image will take you directly to your calendar, where you will be able to create new appointment(s) / meeting(s) to accepting or declining meeting invites from your co-worker(s).
  • Address Book / Contacts
    • If you constantly are searching your desk/workspace for a lost business card, you may want to consider entering their information directly into our webmail's address book. This also comes in handy if you tend to email the same folks over and over.
  • Task List
    • Have too much on your plate? If so, you may want to consider tracking these items within the task manager where you can also assign other co-workers these tasks.
  • InfoStore / Document Manager
    • This is the perfect solution for companies / groups working from the same document or those who are constantly making revisions to the same document. This is also handy to use as a central location to store important documents and even URLs - just reference them in emails and meetings instead of constantly having to remember to bring them to the meeting or attach them to your messages.
  • Configuration
    • Don't like the default settings in our webmail? Just click this image and you will be free to change webmail to your own style.

Folder List

Your webmail toolbar will look similar to this initially, but will change as you add/delete addtional folders.

You can also navigate to other content areas like calendar, contacts, tasks, InfoStore, etc.

Calendar

Your calendar will look similar to this. 

  • Dates that include a meeting are indicated by a gray box over those dates. 
  • Today's date is always indicated by a box around that date.
  • You can quickly preview your upcoming meetings / events but clicking the arrows next to the month and year.

InfoBox / Used Space

Your InfoBox will look something like this. However, it will change when you:

  • Receive new messages
  • Delete messages. (Trash folder does count toward this total. Every thrity (30) days your trash folder will empty.)
  • Add/Delete Calendar Items
  • Add/Delete Tasks
  • Add/Delete Items within InfoStore / Document Manager
  • Add/Delete from Address Book / Contacts

Action Bar

Your Action Bar will look similar to this for your Home Page only. It will change depending on which content section you are in. 

This is where you will manage or perform certain actions for each content section.
