Article Rating: 1 / 5 Votes: 14

For additional information and to determine if your FTP software can be used to change file or folder (directory) permissions, please reference the help section of your FTP software or their Web site. We've proved some useful links below:

CuteFTP: http://help.globalscape.com/help/cuteftp6

WSFTP: http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/

AbsoluteFTP: http://www.vandyke.com/products/absoluteftp/faq/index.html

CyberDuck (Mac OS X): http://cyberduck.ch/

Note: For all directories and .cgi files, the permissions should be set to 755. Other files should typically set at 644.
