How do I Upload Files Using an FTP Program (other than FTP File Publisher or File Manager)?

Article Rating: 1 / 5 Votes: 12

There are several FTP programs you can use to upload files and folders. Common FTP programs include CuteFTP, SmartFTP, and WS_FTP.

Video tutorials for configuring these FTP programs are available by selecting Videos and FTP  Applications located in Customer Support on the right side of your screen.

Before you begin uploading your files, you will need to configure your FTP software to work with Network Solutions® Hosting. You will need the following information, available on the FTP Account Manager page:

  • Host name/Address – This can be either your domain name, such as ftp.yourdomain.com or an IP address.
  • Host type – Always select auto-detect
  • Username – This is your FTP Username found on the FTP Account Manager page.
  • Password – This is your FTP password that can be changed in the FTP Account Manager page.  Once your FTP password has been set you will be unable to view your password, please commit your password to memory.

Please reference your FTP program's Web site and help sections for additional information.
