In order for your Web site to be viewable on the Internet, the domain name must be associated with your Web Hosting Package.

To associate a Network Solutions domain name with an Web Hosting Package:

1. Log in to Account Manager
2. In the "Domain Names Pointing to this Package" section, select "Assign New"
3. From the Domain Name drop down menu, select the domain name you want to assign to your Hosting package
4. From the Points to drop down menu select the directory to which you want to point the domain name then click on the Continue button

Select / to point the domain name to the root directory

To create a new directory pointer

1. Click on the Create a Directory Pointer link to create a new one
2. Type the directory name in the text box then click on the Add Directory Pointer button
3. Confirm you want to add the directory pointer then click on the Continue button
4. Click on the Cancel button and repeat Steps 3-4
5. A confirmation page will appear verifying that your domain name has been assigned to the Hosting Package and providing the directory to which the domain name will resolve, review the information carefully then click on the Continue button

To associate a non - Network Solutions domain name with a Web Hosting Package:

1. Log in to Account Manager

2.  In the "Domain Names Pointing to this Package" section, select "Assign New"3. In the Assigned Domain Names section, click on the Assign Domains button

3. At the end of the second sentence, Domains within the same account as this Hosting Package are listed below. If you would like to assign a domain name that is not listed, click here, click on the click here link

4. Type the domain name that you want to assign to your Hosting Package in the Domain Name text box

5. From the Points to drop down menu select the directory to which you want to point the domain name then click on the Assign Domains button

Select / to point the domain name to the root directory

To create a new directory pointer

a. Click on the Create a Directory Pointer link to create a new one

b. Type the directory name in the text box then click on the Add Directory Pointer button

c. Confirm you want to add the directory pointer then click on the Continue button

d. Click on the Cancel button and repeat Steps 4-6

7. Review your settings for accuracy then click on the Continue button

8. A confirmation page will appear verifying that your domain name has been assigned to the Hosting Package and providing the directory to which the domain name will resolve

9. You will need to update the Domain Name Server (DNS) settings listed at your current registrar - the confirmation page will provide the resource records that you will need to update your current registrar

Note: We recommend that you transfer your domain name registrations to Network Solutions so the appropriate resource records are automatically updated when you make changes to your Hosting Package. To transfer your domain registration you can click on the Transfer button from the confirmation page.
