How to Begin Using POP

For support in configuring your POP3 e-mail software package, you can find video demonstrations for most e-mail clients on our Video Customer Support Web pages. You can find the list here.

 

  • You can manually configure your POP3 e-mail software package
    • Incoming Server Settings: mail.yourdomainname (e.g., if your domain name is jimsbikes.com, the incoming server would be mail.jimsbikes.com)
    • Outgoing Server Settings: smtp.yourdomainname or the outgoing server setting specified by your ISP (e.g., if you use EarthLink®, your outgoing server setting might be smtp.earthlink.net). You will need to contact your ISP for the specific outgoing server setting that applies to your service or you can run the TrueSwitch wizard.
    • Be sure to enable SMTP Authentication; see How Do I Enable SMTP Authentication.
