How to Change Your Mailbox Password

You can reassign or change an emailbox name without deleting any of the messages currently in that mailbox.

There are currently two ways to do this - (1) through your account manager and (2) through your webmail.

  • If logged into Webmail, you will only be able to change the password of that mailbox.
  • By accessing Account Manager you will be able to change any of the mailbox passwords that are in your account.

To change a mailbox password through your webmail:

You will need to first determine which webmail version you are using. To determine this, see Which Webmail Version Do I Have?.

If you are using the updated platform, first log into your webmail, then:

  1. Click the  icon found in the upper left toolbar.
  2. Maximize the "E-Mailbox Settings" category.
  3. Click on "Password"
  4. Enter the old password and the new password where requested.
  5. Click "Save" 
  6. You will see confimation of the change.

If you are using the standard platform, first log into your webmail, then:

  1. Click on the Configuration button in the left navigation bar.
  2. In the list of Options, click on the "Password" link.
  3. Enter the old password and the new password where requested.
  4. Click on the "Save" button.
  5. You will confirmation of the change.

To change a mailbox password through your Account Manager:

  1. Log in to Account Manager
  2. Click on "My Email"
  3. Near the bottom of that page, there is a list of your configured mailboxes. Click on the mailbox that you would like to reset the password for.
  4. This will bring up a page that displays the information for that specific mailbox. Find the Manage Email Name and Password box.
  5. Type a new password in the Password text box. Type it again in the Confirm Password text box. Passwords must be 8 to 16 characters in length, and must contain one upper case, one lower case, and one numeric character. Click on the Save button.
  6. Your password has now been reset.

Note:

  • If you are using a POP3 e-mail software package, you will need to update the settings with your new password.
  • For newly registered domain names, it may take up to 36 hours for your e-mailbox to activate.
  • For domain names that have been registered for 36 hours or more, it may take up to 15 minutes for your e-mailbox name or password changes to take effect.
