Article Rating: 1 / 5 Votes: 4

Note: Microsoft FrontPage extensions are no longer available on new accounts, because they are no longer supported by Microsoft.

To create Meta tags in FrontPage:

1. Open FrontPage

2. Click on File in the navigation menu, click on Properties, then click on the Custom tab

3. Under User Variables, click on Add

4. Type keywords in the Name text box

5. Type index keywords (meta tags) for your Web site, using commas to separate words, in the Value text box

6. Click on the OK button to close the User Meta Variable dialog box, then click the OK button to close the Page Properties dialog box.

FrontPage adds the index keywords to your Web page's meta data. Click on the HTML tab in Page view to see the HTML that FrontPage generates.

Note Some search engines do not use index keywords in meta data, or require their own registration processes. Check with specific search engines for their guidelines.
