nsBusinessSpace™ - Retail Getting Started Guide

To simplify the process of designing your website, we've developed an easy-to-publish website package specifically designed with features and tools to meet your needs.

This website package was created specifically for those who have brick and mortar businesses, but who want to use the Internet to showcase products, highlight sales and promotions, and provide directions to their location(s), hours of operation and more.

A professional retail store website allows you to:

  • Attract new customers
  • Encourage customers to take action by including store hours, locations and driving instructions, as well as general contact information
  • Display and make changes to your product catalog 24/7
  • Communicate more effectively with customers by providing an email address that matches your domain name
  • Offer a discount coupon or free gift coupon as a way to increase sales
  • Announce new products, services, sales and promotions

Before You Begin

Please read through this Getting Started guide before you begin designing your site. Setting up your website can be done in just four easy steps. However, a little bit of planning will help you maximize the benefits your site can offer.

When you're ready to begin designing your website, log in to Account Manager at: and navigate to the My Products & Services tab in the top navigation.  Next, click on the My Website Packages link.

Step 1: Make sure your website has the correct domain name (also known as a Web address).

If you haven't assigned a domain name to your website:

  • Log in and click My Products & Services>>My Website Packages from the top navigation menu.
  • Scroll down to Websites to view your website packages. If you have more than one website package in your account, click on the Manage button next to the package of the website you want to use to build your retail site.
  • On the website details page, click Assign Domain and follow the instructions for assigning a domain name to your website package.

Once you assign a domain name, you are ready to move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Set up your email.

To begin setting up your email, click My Products & Services > My Email from the top navigation menu.
Click the Add Mailbox button.

If you have multiple domains, select the domain you want to use and click Continue.

On the email page, designate a name and password for every email address you will need. Start by creating a list of everyone that requires email, and then decide on the address format you want to use, such as

Making the addresses consistent helps present a professional image. You may also want to consider including a general email address, such as

You will need to assign a temporary password for each of the email addresses you set up. Passwords must be 8-16 characters and contain at least 1 upper case character, at least 1 lower case character, and at least 1 numeral (ex. W6e3ENat).

Step 3: Set up your website with our easy Website Builder Tool.

To begin designing your website, launch Network Solutions® Website Builder Tool from the Account Manager set-up screen or click My Products & Services in the top navigation, then the My Website Packages link and then the Manage button next to the desired website.

Here, our brief setup wizard will guide you through the steps for building your website.

As you go through the process of creating your website, keep these pointers in mind:


Be prepared to include information about:

  • Store name, hours of operation, location(s)
  • Description and images of products
  • Background information about store (years of operation, number of employees, etc.)

The templates automatically include certain page types for you. Below is an example of what a typical retail store might require:

You can change or add to these pages at any time.


Your website package automatically includes the following features:


Network Solutions® provides free, high quality images you can choose from for your website or you can upload your own images - or a combination of both.

Contact Information and Map

Add your contact information and map to your location(s) so potential customers will be able to find your retail store. You can edit or change this information at any time.

Links and Documents

Offer additional resources to customers by adding links or including related documents in Microsoft Word® or PDF files for downloading.

Special Features

You may choose to take advantage of certain features unique to your website package by adding Website Tools including:

Coupon Creator - create printable coupons for customers to use at your business location(s).

Customer Site Search - allow customers to search through your website quickly and easily.

Event Calendar - customize the event calendar to inform customers about one-time and recurring events.

e-Referral - let customers share your website with others via email. The e-Referral link enables visitors to recommend your site to their friends.

PayPal - allow customers to make purchases on your website. All monetary transactions will be processed through PayPal®.
