Setup Guide: Web Hosting

Thank you for choosing Network Solutions® for your Web hosting needs.

This document contains information to help you start using your Web Hosting package and to start building your Web site today. We recommend that you either print a copy of this message or save a copy of it for future reference.

Your new Web hosting package includes the Web Site Builder tool, multiple File Transfer Protocol (FTP) accounts, and personalized e-mailboxes

Your package includes the following features:

Setting Up Your Web Site

Follow these steps to start setting up your Web site.

Step 1: Access your account

Use the Account Manager tab located in the upper right corner of the Network Solutions home page: http://www.networksolutions.com.

To begin the set-up process, you must first log in to your Network Solutions account. Log in to Account Manager at:
http://www.networksolutions.com. If you've forgotten your log-in information, please visit: https://www.networksolutions.com/manage-it/forget-login.jsp.

Step 2: Build your Web pages or upload your files

If you don't already have a Web site:

Get started with Network Solutions® Web Site Builder Tool. For more information on building your Web site with our Web Site Builder Tool, please view our Web Site User Guide at http://www.networksolutions.com/support/do-it-myself-faqs/.

If you already have a Web site and you'd like to move it:

Upload your files using the FTP accounts included in your Web Hosting package.

·         From Account Manager click the My Products & Services tab.

·         Click on the My Hosting Packages hyperlink.  If you have more than one Web Hosting package, select the package you need to update.

·         Click on Web Hosting toolbox button

·        Under the FTP/Content Publishing section click FTP File Publisher and follow the instructions to move your files.  

You may also consider using an FTP application like FileZilla to publish your web site.

If you did not purchase a Windows package, please call 1-866-391-4357 for the appropriate Web hosting solution.

Step 3: Point your domain to your Web site

In order for your domain to guide Internet users to your Web site, you must assign the domain to your hosting package. NOTE: If you purchased a domain name with your hosting package it is automatically assigned and you can skip this step.

·         From Account Manager click the My Products & Services tab.

·         Click on the My Hosting Packages hyperlink.  If you have more than one Web Hosting package, select the package you need to update.

·         Click on the Assign/Edit Your Domain icon

·         From the Select a Domain drop-down list, select Add domain not listed and click Select.

·         When the screen refreshes, enter your domain name in the field and click Select.

Step 4: Set up your e-mail

Now that your Web site is live, you will want to setup an e-mail address for customer correspondence.

·         While logged into Account Manager click the My Products & Services tab

·         Click the My E-mail hyperlink

·         On the “E-Mail Services” page, under “Your Available E-Mail Services” click Create Mailbox for the e-mail service you are setting up. Note: If you have more than one e-mail service, they will all be listed here; select the Assign action in the appropriate line.)

·         From here you can personalize your e-mailboxes and assign passwords.

·         If your package includes a Catch-All E-Mail address, click Assign to Domains in the Catch-All line.

·         Click Save and Continue to complete the process.

Once you've set up your e-mail, you can access your mailboxes via Network Solutions® Webmail: http://mail."your domain name".
