Setup Your nsMail to Work with Non-nsWebAddress

WARNING: For advanced users only. Changes made to these Internet settings may cause you to lose your existing e-mail and Web sites. This is not recommended if you are not comfortable with changing A, MX and CNAME records. In order to avoid changing these records on your own, please check out our current offer (https://www.networksolutions.com/domain-transfer/index.jsp).

We realize that not all domain names out there are going to be purchased through Network Solutions. Therefore, it may be possible that you would like to have email through us, but keep your domain through your other provider.

If you would like to do this:

  • Within your account in your domain name provider, find where you can change/edit your MX and CNAME records.
  • Change your MX records to:
    • Priority. Recommend "10".
    • TTL. Recommend "7200".
    • Mail Server. Enter "inbound.[domain name].netsolmail.net
  • Create/change your CNAME records to (this requires TWO (2) separate entries):
    • Change "Mail" record.
      • Alias. Change this to "mail".
      • TTL. Enter 7200.
      • Mail Server. Enter "mail.[domain name].netsolmail.net"
    •  Change "SMTP" record.
      • Alias. Change this to "smtp".
      • TTL. Enter 7200.
      • Mail Server. Enter "smtp.[domain name].netsolmail.net"
