Software Upgrade - Read Me First!

Whether you've just started your Software Upgrade or are thinking about upgrading to the v7.x platform, there are some things that you should know.

The Software Upgrade Process

The Software Upgrade Process has three phases: (1) the Initial Software Upgrade, (2) the Interim Review phase and (3) the Final Software Upgrade.

Phase 1: Initial Software Upgrade:

• The Initial Software Upgrade is a one-time process that takes a snapshot of your v4.x store.  The purpose is to make a copy of all of your v4.x store information (products, customers, orders, design info, etc) and apply it to a new v7.x store.  NOTE: Any changes made to your v4.x store After the Initial Software Upgrade WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY APPEAR IN YOUR v7.x STORE.

Phase 2: Interim Review:

• Once your Initial Software Upgrade is complete, you will have 30 days to review your new store, make any changes necessary to your design, and become familiar with your v7.x store.  Please note, if you need to make any changes to your v4.x store during the Interim Review phase (adding or editing products or product pricing, design changes, etc.) you MUST make these changes on the v7.x store as well.

Phase 3: Final Software Upgrade

• Simple Variants in the v4.x store will be upgraded to Personalization Questions.  For more information on this, please view the FAQ.
• All of your design decisions, product changes and likewise that you  had made in your v7.x store during the Interim Review phase will remain intact when the Final Software Upgrade takes place.
• During the Final Software Upgrade, any store activity (new customers, new orders, changes in product inventory) will all be copied from your v4.x store to your v7.x store.  Please note, the Final Upgrade ONLY brings over Store Activity.  Any changes made to the products themselves (new variations, price changes, etc) and any design changes in general WILL NOT COME OVER ON THE FINAL SOFTWARE UPGRADE.  You will have to recreate these changes in the v7.x store manually after the Final Software.

Important: During the entire Software Upgrade process, from the Initial Software Upgrade through the Final Software Upgrade and up until the final day when your v4.x store is closed and your v7.x store is opened, you will still conduct business through your v4.x store.
