Thunderbird 2 Email Client Setup

*Please Note*

Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have recently begun blocking port 25. If port 25 does not work for you, try using server port 2525 as an outgoing server.

 

Thunderbird 2

 

This tutorial will take you through the step by step process of setting up your Network Solutions email with Thunderbird 2

1.     With Thunderbird 2 open Click on the tools menu and select account settings

2.     Click the add account button

3.     Select Email account and click next

4.     Enter the following information:

a.     Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.

b.     Email Address: Enter your full mail address (e.g., john@example.com).

5.     Click the next button

6.     Make sure POP is selected and enter

    1. For your Incoming mail server (POP3): type "mail" followed by your domain name (e.g. mail.example.com)

For your Outgoing mail server (SMTP): type "smtp." followed by your domain name (e.g. smtp.example.com)

8.     Click the next button

9.     Enter in

User Name: Enter your full Network Solutions' Email Address

10.   Click the next button

11.   Enter in the account name

12.   Click the next button

13.   Click finish if all the information is correct

14.   Click on tools menu and click account settings

15.   Click on outgoing server and click edit

16.   Change your outgoing server setting to 2525 or 587 if you are with Verizon you should change your port to 587

17.   Click ok then ok again

18.   Click on get mail and enter in your password to finish configuring your email account
