Transfers within Network Solutions®

A transfer within Network Solutions® can have two meanings, please review and follow the instructions below based on your needs.

 

Transferring a domain name registration between Network Solutions® ® Account Holders (Registrants)

The most common transfer within Network Solutions® is a transfer between two Account Holders. This occurs when a current domain name Account Holder is relinquishing the rights of the domain name registration to an existing or new Account Holder (Registrant).

 

Modifying the Account Holder (Registrant) Name

A modification to the Account Holder name is often referred to as a Legal Name Change. This occurs when the Account Holder needs to make a change to their listed name but is not relinquishing the rights to their domain name registration.

Important Information before initiating Transfers within Network Solutions®:

When you initiate a domain name transfer out of an Account with Network Solutions®, products and services do not transfer to the NEW account. This would include Web forwarding, Web Hosting, Websites, Private Registration, etc.

The following domain extensions are available for ONLINE Registrant Name Change transfers within Network Solutions®:

.br.com

.bz

.cc

.cn.com

.com

.de.com

.gb.net

.info

.jpn.com

.kr.com

.la

.mobi

.me

.name (second level)

 The following domain extensions are available for a MANUAL Registrant Name Change Agreement:

.ca, .cn, .cx, .eu, .gd, .ms, .tc, .tw, .gs, .us and .vg

The following domain extensions are currently UNABLE to transfer within Network Solutions® Accounts:

.am, .at, .be, .ch, .de, .es, .fm, .in, .com.mx, .co.nz, .co.uk, .name (third level), .pl, .pro, .ru, .tel and .co.uk.

 

Transferring a domain name registration between Network Solutions Account Holders (Registrants)

A) NEW Account Holder

1. The Gaining Account Holder (Registrant) would go to www.networksolutions.com.

2. Hover mouse over the Domain Names tab and click Transfer Your Domain Name sub tab.

3. Enter one domain name that you would like to transfer then click Get Started.

4. Select the radio button Person requesting to transfer... and Continue

5. Enter the characters you see in the image into the box and click Continue.

6. On the My Cart page there are two line items. Transfers between Network Solutions® Account Holders are FREE. However, you may select an extended renewal term from the drop down box or click the red X to remove renewal. Click on SECURE CHECKOUT.

7. Enter the NEW account information in the required fields and click Continue

8. On the Provide Payment Information page enter the characters you see in the image into the box and click I agree to the Service Agreement - Continue.

9. Within 24 hours you will receive a confirmation email and Network Solutions® will send an email message to the losing Account Holder's Primary Contact email address, requesting authorization of the domain name transfer. The current Primary Contact has 14 days to respond. Upon receipt of authorization, Network Solutions® will transfer the domain name to the Gaining Account Holder (Registrant).

10. An email confirmation will be sent to both Gaining Account Holder (Registrant) and Current Account Holder's Primary Contact upon completion of the transfer or notification that the transfer was unsuccessful. Once the transfer is authorized the domain name will be moved into the new account within 48 hours.

  

B) NEW account under the same Primary Contact User ID

1. Go to www.networksolutions.com and click on MANAGE ACCOUNT.

2. Click on the My Domain Names link.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the More Domain Options area.

4. Click on the Transfer Domains link.

5. Enter one domain name at a time in the transfer box and click Get Started

6. Select the radio button for A New Network Solutions® account from the Transfer Destination screen and click Continue.

7. Select the radio button for type of account being created - Personal or Organization - and clickContinue.

8. Enter the new account information in the required fields and click Submit

9. The domain will instantly be moved to the new account.

 

C)  EXISTING account under the same Primary Contact User ID

1. Go to www.networksolutions.com and click on MANAGE ACCOUNT.

2. Click on the My Domain Names link.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and find the More Domain Options area.

4. Click on the Transfer Domains link.

5. Enter one domain name at a time in the transfer box and click Get Started

6. Select the radio button for An existing account under the User ID you are logged in with and click Continue

7. Select the radio button for the Account Number the customer wants to move the domain name into and click Continue

 

Modifying the Account Holder (Registrant) Name

1. Go to www.networksolutions.com and click on MANAGE ACCOUNT.

2. Click on the Account Settings tab.

3. Click on the Accounts and Contacts link.

4. To edit Account Holder (Registrant) information, click on the account number.

5. On the Account Details page click Edit User Profile

6. On the Edit Account Information page click Edit in the Account section

7. Click on the Change My Name link.

8. Change the Account Holder (Registrant) and click Save,

9. On the Confirm Changes page check the box that you have read the Service Agreement and agree to its terms and click Go.

10. Your changes have been submitted and click Go to return to Account Information and click Save.
