Understanding Your Website Performance Reports

When you purchase a website package from Network Solutions, it automatically comes with a reporting service that tracks visitor traffic to your website. There is nothing you need to do to activate this service other than to create and publish your website. Once tracking is enabled for your site, you will see a summary report on the number of hits for your website when you login to the Website Builder Tool.

Figure A. Website Performance Summary

website performance

The graph that appears in the Website Performance section under the Website Overview tab depicts the number of page views that your website has received in the past week. A page view is counted each time someone visits a page on your site. If a visitor refreshes a page, this will be counted as an additional page view. If the user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, this will count as another page view as well.

Use this report to:

  • Understand visitor traffic to your website.
  • Understand peak and off peak times when you can make changes to your site.
  • Measure page visits against promotional events that you may be running.

Click the View My Reports and Marketing Services link in this section to view the detailed Page Views report in a separate browser window. From here, you will be able to select any date range, view information in the graph or table format, sort the data in the table as well as export, print and email the report.
