Turn Domain Protect On or Off

To protect your domain name registration from unauthorized or fraudulent transfers, Network Solutions® turns on Domain Protect as the default for each of your domain names. Domain Protect blocks domain name transfers to another registrant until you or your designated contact turns off the feature. You therefore can control the transferability of your domain names and protect against domain hijackers while still performing legal name changes, account consolidation, or transfers between Network Solutions® accounts.

To turn Domain Protect on and offPrimary Contact Access ONLY

1. Log in to Account Manager

2. If you have one Domain Name, click on My Domain Names; if you have multiple Domain Names, choose the one you wish to manage from the drop-down menu under My Domain Names and click Go. (Domain Protect can only be managed one domain at a time)

3. The Manage domain page will open, in the details section, find the Domain Protect row.

4. To change the setting, click on Turn Off or Request Authorization Code.

5. Select either Leave Domain Protect on or Leave Domain Protect off and click Save.

Please note Check the Request Authorization box only if you are transferring your domain to another registrar. It can take up to 24 hours for this change to propagate.
