What is the new PayPal Express purchase flow for customers?
The PayPal Express payment method now uses the following purchase flow for your customers.
- Add a product to the shopping cart.
- Choose PayPal Express to checkout.
- The customer is redirected to PayPal where they will need to sign-in with their PayPal email address, or create a new PayPal account.
- Once signed in, the page is populated with the customer's personal information and your (the store owner) logo is normally displayed at the top of the page.
- The customer verifies the payment information (a statement at the top of the page will remind the customer that they will confirm payment on the next page) and clicks the Continue button.
- If you have Registration Required or Phone Number Required for checkout, the customer will be returned to Step 1 of checkout with all of their Paypal information populated in the appropriate fields. Otherwise, the customer will be moved ahead to the shipping section.
- After confirming the billing and shipping info, and supplying a phone number if required, they click the button to proceed to Step 2.
- The customer selects a shipping method, answers any checkout questions, and clicks Next.
- On the final page, there is no payment option; there is simply a Complete your Order button. The customer clicks this button to place their order through PayPal Express.
