An eGift Certificate is a product you create and place on your storefront for customers to buy.  They can then redeem these gift certificates on your store.

A Gift Certificate is a coupon that you create and then issue to whomever you wish.  They receive the Gift Certificate Code and use the code during checkout.

Both eGift and Gift Certificates are managed by the Gift Certificate Manager.
