FAQs
What does LiquidPlanner allow users to do?
LiquidPlanner supports users completely through the planning, execution, and analysis phases of projects. Users can plan project scope and timing, create task lists, set priorities, view and modify schedules, manage resources, create project documentation, capture discussions about projects and tasks, upload documents, and more. We often say that just about the only thing we can't do for you is a coffee run.
What's different about LiquidPlanner?
There are many tools out there that focus on one specific function, such as bug tracking or task management. On the other side of the spectrum, there are highly complex project management packages that are expensive and designed primarily for trained PMP's. LiquidPlanner sits happily in the middle. Our easy-to-use features allow you to schedule complex projects, collaborate with your team, and track time in a centralized online workspace. Plus, everyone on the team can get up to speed quickly and use the software daily to keep projects on track.
Who is LiquidPlanner designed for?
LiquidPlanner helps teams of all sizes manage complex projects. It is robust enough for the enterprise user yet simple enough for small businesses that may not yet use a project management tool due to cost or complexity. It keeps teams on track without the need for time- and energy-consuming status meetings and is ideal for collaboration with contractors or other remote resources. That said, LiquidPlanner is effective and easy to use for individual task management, too. So it's smart, friendly, and well-rounded. You can't say that about all software types.
What collaboration tools do you provide to users?
LiquidPlanner provides a complete project environment - one that is both social and data-driven. All team members view the same set of project information so everyone is on the same page at any given time. Wiki-like commenting features allow teams to capture the vital conversation threads that go along with projects and tasks. LiquidPlanner's document-sharing feature allows teams to upload specifications, graphic files and screenshots, spreadsheets, and more.
What kind of return on investment should I expect with LiquidPlanner?
Most organizations see a huge return on their investment in the product by the sheer efficiency they gain in executing and delivering their projects. Every hour a team member spends coordinating project details, looking through email threads for project info, and trying to get a handle on his/her priorities is money down the drain. LiquidPlanner is designed to eliminate that kind of unnecessary overhead. LiquidPlanner shows a return on investment through increased productivity and plan accuracy over the cost of the tools. We have clients affirming this all the time.
How secure is LiquidPlanner?
LiquidPlanner is extremely secure. We have hundreds of customers (including many at Fortune 500 companies) hosting their confidential project plans with us. LiquidPlanner maintains its own data center location at Adhost, a leader in co-location hosting located in Seattle, WA. All access by workspace members is password protected and member email accounts are verified. Furthermore, our technical support staff can only see your data if you explicitly grant LiquidPlanner permission via your workspace settings.
How do I get started?
The first thing to do is set up a free 30-day trial of the LiquidPlanner software. LiquidPlanner provides you with a secure workspace where your projects and tasks are stored. If you like, you can then invite other team members into your workspace to try LiquidPlanner with you. Since, LiquidPlanner has innovative features that are different from other project management tools you may have used in the past, consider exploring our Support site, including the Help Guide, User Forums, and Online Training that is free to all users.
Can I integrate between LiquidPlanner and various tools I already have in place?
LiquidPlanner enables programmatic interaction with your LiquidPlanner workspace via a RESTful web service API. Most actions that you can perform within the application can be automated using the API - for example, you can create a task, comment on the task, track time against it, and then mark it done.
Do I need any special hardware or software to run LiquidPlanner?
LiquidPlanner is supported by released versions of all modern web browsers (IE 7+, Firefox 2+, Safari, Chrome) on all operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux). Special plug-ins are not required.
