Domain Name (Acceptable Trademark Requests)
This field must contain the exact word or phrase which has been registered as a trademark by a competent authority. The trademark should have been filed before May 30, 2008 and needs to be registered prior to the date your .tel sunrise domain name request is submitted.
Domain names must meet the following specifications:
- Contains a minimum of 3 characters and a maximum of 63 not including the .tel suffix
- Contains at least one letter and not consisting purely of digits selected from the letters "a—z", "A—Z", or the digits "0—9"
- Cannot begin or end with a hyphen ("—")
- Cannot contain a hyphen ("—") in the 3rd or 4th
Trademarks with figurative marks will aslo be accepted, as long as:
- The mark contains a name or the word element that is predominate and can be clearly distinguised from the device element
- All alphanumeric characters in the trademark are contained in the domain name in the same order as they appear in the trademark
If a trademark name contains punctuations or special characters (e.g., @, !, +, %, &, #, ©, §), these characters may be transcribed, replaced by a hyphen, omitted, or spelled out. For example, A+B can be written as AandB.tel or AplusB.tel. The appropriateness of the replacement word will be determined by the sunrise validation agent.
Registered Trademark
This field should contain the name or description of the eligible trademark on which this application is based. Please ensure your registration meets the following criteria:
- The registration was issued by a competent public authority or intergovernmental organization,
- The registration has national effect (an authority with jurisdiction over an entire nation such as national trademarks, Benelux trademarks and Community trademarks),
- The registration application was filed prior to May 30, 2008, and
- The trademark was registered prior to the date your .tel sunrise domain name request is submitted.
Registration Number
This field should contain the registration number of the registered mark's current registration. This is not the application number of the trademark. This number must enable the sunrise validation agent to access the correct registration entry at the trademark registry or trademark office. The trademark should have been filed before May 30, 2008 and needs to be registered prior to the date your .tel sunrise domain name request is submitted. Only trademarks with national effect may be registered during sunrise.
Registration Country
This field must contain the country, region, locality or organization where the right is established. Please select from the drop down list.
Applicant Capacity
Please select either "Owner", "Licensee" or "Assignee" from the drop down list.
- Owner: The sunrise applicant is the holder of the registered trademark. The sunrise applicant's name must be identical to the name of the trademark owner as reported by the trademark office.
- Licensee: The sunrise applicant is not the holder of the registered trademark, but is a licensee of such trademark. If requested, the sunrise applicant must submit a duly completed license declaration signed by the trademark owner as documentary evidence using a template provided to you by Network Solutions.
- Assignee: The sunrise applicant must select Assignee in any of the circumstances listed below. If requested, the sunrise applicant must submit a duly completed declaration of assignment executed by the sunrise applicant in all circumstances listed below using a template provided to you by Network Solutions:
- If the trademark in the sunrise application has been transferred and the transfer has not yet been recorded by the trademark office;
- If the official name of the trademark has been changed, and such change has not been recorded with the trademark office; or
- Where the official name of the trademark owner is otherwise different from the name of the sunrise applicant.
Disclosure Confirmation
The registrant can choose to disclose their contact information for their .tel domain name in the WHOIS database. Registrants that are an individual person should choose "individual" from the drop down list. Registrants that are companies, businesses, partnerships, non-profit entities, or associations should choose "Company or Organization" from the drop down list. Domain name registrants that are considered a Company or Organization will not be permitted to opt out of disclosing information to the general public in the WHOIS database.
Publish in WHOIS
An Individual may elect to opt in or opt out from disclosing their registrant WHOIS information to the general public in the Registry WHOIS. Please select "Yes" from the drop down list if you elect to have your information disclosed by the WHOIS service, or "No" if you elect to withhold disclosure of your information to the general public. A Company or Organization will not be permitted to opt out.
