Canadian Tax Exemption: How to Add it to My Account
In compliance with Canadian tax regulations, Network Solutions charges indirect taxes (like GST/HST/QST) on products and services for Canadian accounts. If your business qualifies for a tax exemption with the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenu Québec, you can add your exemption number to your account profile to prevent these taxes from being applied to your orders.
This guide will walk you through adding your Canadian tax exemption number in the Account Manager.
Adding Your Tax Exemption Number
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the upper-right corner, click your user profile name and select My Profile from the dropdown menu.
- In the Profile section, click the EDIT button.
- Scroll down below the address fields and enter your GST/HST number into the Tax Certificate Number field.
- If your province is Quebec, an additional State Tax Certificate Number field will appear. You can enter your QST number here.
Note: The State Tax Certificate Number field will only be visible if your province is set to Quebec.
- Click the SAVE button to apply your changes.
Review
You have successfully added your Canadian tax exemption number to your account profile. By providing your valid tax certificate number, you ensure that applicable sales taxes will not be collected on your future orders and services with Network Solutions.
