Builder brands: How to add and manage blog posts in Express editor

Since blogging is one of those many ways you can reach out to your people and be where they are, you may want to become familiar with all the ways to manage your posts. Posts are the articles or pages of a blog created individually within the blog. If you're not familiar with how to add a blog, you can learn how to do so here: How To Add A Blog

This article will discuss the basics of How to Manage your Blog Posts, including Creating and Organizing them. If you do not have content to add to your blog yet or need help gettings started, we recommend reviewing the default articles that are present within your blog when you first add one to your page.

Managing Your Blog

After you have created a blog you can manage it in the following ways:

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click the Websites tab on the left navigation menu.

  3. Click the Edit Site button under your Website page.

  4. Select the Blog icon on the left navigation of your website editor.

  5. By selecting a Blog section from the original page, the Blog Page, or the Blog Post Page you will have a clickable Gear icon appear, or you can select the button in the right Settings panel to Manage Blog.

  6. Once clicked, these will open the Blog Management area where you can search, create, edit, and delete posts for your blog.

Create a New Post

To create a new blog post you will want to:

  1. Select Create a new post from the Blog menu or the Manage Posts Section.

  2. In the new post window, add your blog post Title, Introduction or article summary, Blog content, and Cover Image.
  3. As you add text and content to your post, you can format text, add links, images, and Youtube videos using the bar at the bottom of the content area.

Pro Tip: By selecting SEO Settings, you can customize the post's URL by entering text into the area under Slug.

Organizing Blog Posts

Your website builder will organize them by date in the post order when creating a blog. Whenever a blog post is made, it shows with the most recent post at the top of the posting page and then the older ones at the bottom.

  • You can use settings like Featured to display the post at the top of the list.

  • Alternatively, you can add Categories to label and sort your posts for your readers to find similar posts.

  • If there is more than one page of posts, the newer posts will appear on page 1 while the older ones will “Page 2” or “Page 3” etc.
