An interactive guide that helps you create and manage an email mailbox with Network Solutions. It takes you step by step through setting up a mailbox with either a Network Solutions domain or an external domain, updating DNS if needed, and managing mailboxes, including editing or deleting them. The instructions are simple and clear for users of all experience levels.

Note: A newly purchased mailbox may take a few minutes to fully provision and appear in your account. You may need to log out and log back in to your Account Manager while waiting for the mailbox to be fully provisioned.

Creating a Mailbox Using a Domain Registered With Us

Follow these steps to create a mailbox:

  1. Log in to your account via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. Click Professional Email on the left side of the page.

  3. Go to the Plans tab, then click Assign Mailbox.

    If you have multiple email services, select the desired service and click Assign Mailbox.

  4. What you see on your screen may look different depending on your email plan.
    • For Professional Email or Professional Email Plus, enter the mailbox name, select the domain, set and confirm the password, then click Assign.

    • For eCommerce, Hosting, or Website package email, enter the mailbox name, select the domain, set and confirm the password, then click Save & Continue.

Note: Please allow up to 4 hours for your changes to take effect. Changes for newly registered domain names may take up to 48 hours to take effect.

To use your mailbox in an email app, you must set up your DNS settings to point your domain's email records to Network Solutions. Log in to your domain registrar's account and look for the DNS or Name Server management section. Use the settings provided in your Network Solutions account. Creating a Mailbox Using a Domain Registered With Another Registrar

Below are steps in creating a mailbox using a domain registered with another registrar.

  1. Log in to your account via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. Click Professional Email on the left side of the page.

  3. Go to the Plans tab, then click Assign Mailbox.

    If you have multiple email services, you will need to select the email service you would like to use, then click the Assign Mailbox button.

  4. What you see will depend on the email plan you have with Network Solutions.
    • If you purchased a Professional Email or Professional Email Plus, you can assign an external domain by selecting 'My domain is not listed here' in the Select Domain field. Selecting this option will allow you to enter your external domain. Once the mailbox name and password are entered, click the Assign button.

      Your required DNS Settings will be displayed in your Network Solutions account after assigning the mailbox. Copy these settings. Then log in to your current domain registrar’s account and go to the area for DNS management or MX records. Paste the settings provided to update your domain's email routing.

    • If you have other email plans like eCommerce, Hosting, and Website package email, you can use an external domain to create your mailbox by entering it in the Type in a Domain Name field and clicking Apply Changes. The domain you just entered will now appear in the Select Domain drop-down.

      Once you have entered and confirmed your preferred mailbox name and password, click Save & Continue.

  5. After creating your mailbox, log in to your Name Server provider’s account and locate the DNS or MX records management section. Use the DNS settings found in the Hosting or Website section of your Network Solutions Account Manager to adjust your email routing.
    • For Hosting Package Emails, you will need to launch the Hosting Control Panel and click the Assign/Edit Your Domain button. In the Domain Names Pointing to this Package page, click View DNS. This will give you the website and email records. Copy the MX records and use them to update your email DNS records in your registrar.

    • For Website Package Emails, manage the website package to open the Website Details page. Go to the Manage Website Domains section and click the View DNS link to find your email's MX records. Copy these, then log in to your current domain registrar’s DNS settings and update the MX records accordingly.

Deleting or Unassigning a Mailbox

If you want to delete an unused or compromised mailbox, or free up server space, remember that deleting a mailbox will permanently remove all mailbox emails, contacts, and other mailbox information from your account. Ensure that you back up any important mailbox data and set up forwarding, if necessary, before proceeding.

Important: Once a mailbox is deleted, its content will not be recoverable. We recommend backing up the mailbox before proceeding.

Follow these instructions to remove a mailbox.

  1. Log in to your account via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. Click Professional Email on the left side of the page.

  3. On the Mailboxes tab, click the vertical ellipsis on the right side of the mailbox you want to delete or unassign, then click Delete.

  4. Confirm the deletion by entering the complete email address in the field provided and click Delete.

Your mailbox has been deleted. You will no longer have access to its contents.

 

FAQ

Q : How do I create a mailbox with my domain name?

A: Log in to your Network Solutions account and open a Professional Email. Under the Plans tab, select Assign Mailbox and choose your email service (if you have multiple services). Enter the mailbox name, choose the domain, and set the password. Click Assign or Save & Continue. Changes may take up to 4 hours to apply, or up to 48 hours for newly registered domains.

Q: How can I delete the mailbox I am not using anymore?

Log in to your Network Solutions account and open Professional Email. In the Mailboxes tab, locate the mailbox you want to remove, click the three-dot menu, and select "Delete" from the menu. Confirm by typing the full email address. The mailbox will then be permanently deleted, and its contents will no longer be accessible.
