How Do I Register a .pro Domain?
.pro Registration Requirements
To register a .pro domain name, you must have a license that has been issued to you or your business for your professional use.
Your license must be in good standing with a government certification body or jurisdictional licensing entity recognized by a governmental body, which requires that its members be licensed or admitted to a certifying or licensing entity and regularly verifies data accuracy. A government body may include, for example, your country, state/province, county, or city government.
Once submitted, your business license information is subject to validation.
The following business license information is required:
- First Name (or company/organization)
- Last Name (or company/organization)
- Date of Licensure
- Type of Profession
- Jurisdiction Country
- Licensing Authority
- License Number
- Licensing Authority Website
Submitting Your Business License
You may provide your business license information for your .pro domain name via the Network Solutions® Account Manager. If your business license failed validation, you may also update or correct your business license information by following these steps:
Submitting Business License Information for Multiple Domains
If you have multiple .pro domain names and all of these domains are associated with the same Network Solutions® account, you only need to submit your business license information once. If your .pro domain names are associated with different Network Solutions® accounts, you must submit your business license information for each account.
Multiple Businesses and Associated Business Licenses
If you have multiple businesses and associated business licenses and would like to register a .pro domain name, you do not need to submit business license information for each business. You are only required to submit business license information for one of your businesses as long as your .pro domain names for these businesses are registered under the same Network Solutions® account.
You must submit your business license information for each account if your .pro domain names are registered under different Network Solutions® accounts. In addition, your business name and associated business license do not have to match your .pro domain name.
For example, suppose you operate a lawn care business and a vehicle detailing business and want to register a .pro domain name for each one under the same Network Solutions® account. In that case, you must only submit your business license information for one of these businesses.
Business License Validation
The .pro registry will contact the licensing authority you provided for your business license to verify that your business license information is accurate and in good standing. Your licensing authority should be a government certification body or jurisdictional licensing entity recognized by a governmental body, which requires that its members be licensed or admitted to a certifying or licensing entity and regularly verifies the accuracy of its data.
The .pro registry will contact your licensing authority to confirm that your business license meets the above-referenced requirements. If your business license does not meet these requirements, you will be required to update or correct your business license information within thirty days of failing the validation.
If you do not update or correct your business license information within seven days, then your .pro domain name may experience an interruption in service and will not resolve. If you do not update or correct your business license information within thirty days of failing the validation, then your .pro domain name will be deleted.
If your business license has failed, you may update or correct your business license information by following the instructions below:
If your business license information fails validation, you only need to update or correct your business license once for all of your .pro domain names associated with the same Network Solutions® account.
