Install Extended Validation SSL Certificates on cPanel or WHM

Extended Validation SSL Certificates, also known as EV Certificates, provide the strictest validation requirements to prove to your customers that your site is not a phishing or fraudulent website and that it is safe to proceed on your website.

To set up an SSL certificate, you must log in to your cPanel® or WHM® account. Both cPanel (the control panel for end users) and WHM (the administrative panel) have distinct methods for installing certificates.

You will have received your certificate from Network Solutions, a file typically named our_domain_com.crt, as well as the CA bundle file containing the intermediate certificates, typically named Apache_Plesk_Install.txt.

Install EV SSL on WHM

Follow these instructions to install your certificate using WHM:

  1. Log into WHM.
If you are logging into the WHM for the first time, you may see a page called Feature Showcase. Click on Exit to WHM, located at the bottom of the page.

  9. Enter your CA Bundle in the last field. If you don't enter a CA, the SSL certificate will appear as self-signed, and a warning will be displayed when customers try to access your site securely.

  10. Once you've entered all three necessary aspects of the SSL certificate (CRT, RSA, and CA Bundle), click the Install button.

The server will then proceed to install the SSL certificate and notify you of the completion or any errors that may have occurred. The new certificate should start working immediately, and you can confirm this by accessing your website using https://.

After the server installs the SSL certificate, it will notify you of the completion or any errors that may have occurred. The new certificate should start working immediately. You can confirm this by accessing your website using https://.
