How to Leave a Copy of Mail on the Server with Mac Email Programs

  1. On the Mail tab, click the Preferences option.
  2. Select the account you need to edit.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Find and update the Remove copy from the server after retrieving a message option.

From here, you can also select if you would like to remove mail from the server after a set number of days. Or remove mail from the server when deleted from the Deleted Items folder in Outlook.

Mac Mail for OSX® 10.5 Leopard
