NameSecure Account Guide
Overview
NameSecure is a web business solution that offers domains, email services, and hosting packages. When you purchase a domain, an email service, or hosting package with NameSecure, you need to know how to manage your account through the Account Dashboard for a better user experience.
Main Page
When you go to NameSecure’s website, you will see the Main Page first, where you can do the following actions:
- View your Cart – Click Cart on the top menu to review your order. This is where you can register or renew products.
- Create an Account – Create an account by clicking Create Account. Fill out the required fields, then click the submit button.
- Send a Password Reset Link – If you have forgotten your account password, you can send a password reset link to your email address on file by clicking Forgot My Password. Enter your User Name, then click the submit button.
- Contact Support – Click Contact Us on the upper right corner of the page to call or send a service request form to Product Support.
- Log in to your Account – Log in to your account by entering your User Name and Password and clicking the LOGIN button. This will take you to your Account Dashboard. Please see the Account Dashboard tab for more information.
- Navigate to Product Pages - For more information on NameSecure’s offerings, click on the following tabs: Domain Names, Web Hosting, Email, Domains@Discount, Transfer Domains, Renew Domains, and Free Tools.
Account Dashboard
Once you are logged in to your NameSecure account, you will be taken to your Account Dashboard, where you will see a welcome message.
Within your Account Dashboard, you have the following options:
- Log Out – click the LOG OUT button on the top-right corner of the page to log out of your account.
- View User Name – You can see your User Name on the upper-right portion of the page.
- Use Quick Links – under My Account, there is a set of links that allow you to get to different pages on your account. Please see the table for Quick Links below.
- Manage Domains and Services – Under the Domain Services Management Center, you can manage your domains and services. Please see the Domain Services Management Center section below.
- Update Account Holder and Create Billing Information – Under the Account Holder and Preferences, you can update your Account Holder Information or create a billing contact. If you already have a billing contact, you can update the information under Billing Contact and Information.

Below are quick links within your Account Dashboard and the actions you can do with each link.

Within the Domain Services and Management Center, you have the following options:
- Check All/Uncheck All – If you have more than one domain, you can select or unselect your domains by clicking these buttons.
- Edit DNS - Select a domain or multiple domains, then click this button to update your DNS records. For more information on updating your DNS, please see Managing DNS and Advanced DNS Records in NameSecure.
- Edit Auto Renew – Select a domain or multiple domains, then click this button to update automatic renewal features.
- Renew Checked Items – Select a domain or multiple domains, then click this button to renew your domains.
- View Domain Information – The columns listed below give you details about your domain:
- Domain Name – The domain you registered.
- Type - The type of service (for example, Domain, Email, Hosting, etc.)
- Auto Renew – This shows if automatic renew is enabled or disabled for the domain.
- Action – Click the Modify/Update link to edit your domain settings and information.
- Expires - Displays the date of expiration of your services.
Follow these steps to view your order history:
- Log in to your NameSecure account.
- Click the Check Order Status link under My Account.
- Now, you will see your order history. Click on an Order # to see your Order Details.

Follow the steps below to update your password and security question:
- Log in to your NameSecure account.
- Click the Change Password link under My Account.
- On the next page, enter your current and new password. If you do not know your current password, you must reset your password by clicking the Forgot Password link on NameSecure’s Main Page when logged out of your account.
- To update your security question, select a new question by clicking the Security Question drop-down box, then add an answer on the Secret Answer field.
Note: To update your security question, you must also update your password. Your security question is used to authenticate you when you call support in case you need a password reset link.
Domain Information
To update your domain information, follow these steps:
- Log in to your NameSecure account.
- Scroll down to Domain Services Management Center.
- Select a domain, then click the Modify/Update link.
Below are the different tabs you will see. Select from the options below for more information:
Within the Domain Overview tab, you will see the following:
- Domain – This is the domain you selected to modify.
- Domain Drop-down box – This allows you to change the domain to modify. Select a domain from the drop-down, then click View. You also have the option to see your domain list by clicking the View All Domains link.
- Web Forwarding Modifications – You can set up or edit web forwarding options in this section.
- Email Modifications – This is where you can manage your emails.
- Contacts Modifications – This is where you can update your WHOIS contacts and request an Authorization Code for domain transfers.
- Other Options – You can renew your domain and update your DNS, Lock-Protect Security, and Zone File Control.
- Expiration – This will display the expiration date of your domain with an option to renew.
- Service Information – You will see information about the different services that NameSecure offers.
Within the WHOIS Info tab, you will see the following:
- Security Features – You can enable or disable Lock-Protect by clicking the Manage Lock-Protect Security link. Also, update your domain privacy by clicking the Manage WHOIS NamePrivacy link if purchased. Please see How Do I Manage My WHOIS Information in NameSecure? for instructions.
- Dates – This row will show you when the domain was registered, its expiration, when it was last updated, and the transfer in date.
- WHOIS Contacts – You can update existing WHOIS contacts by clicking the following links:
- Modify Registrant Contact
- Modify Administrative Contact
- Modify Technical Contact
You can copy these contacts to other domains by clicking the following links:
- Copy Registrant Contact to Other Domains
- Copy Administrative Contact to Other Domains
- Copy Technical Contact to Other Domains

- Domain Name Servers – You can point your Name Servers to 3rd party servers by clicking the Modify Domain Name Servers link. You can also update your zone file settings by clicking the Modify your zone file settings here link. Check out the Managing DNS and Advanced DNS Records in NameSecure article for further instructions.
Note: If you are hosted by a third-party provider, please contact them for support to update your zone files.
Within the Web Settings tab, you have the following options:
- Forward to URL – Allows you to forward to a specific URL (for example, if you want www.exampledomain1.com to forward to www.exampledomain.com). When web users type www.exampledomain1.com, they will be taken to www.exampledomain.com.
- Forward to IP Address – This is similar to forwarding a URL, but instead of a URL, you are forwarding to an IP Address.
- Display Dynamic Under Construction Page – A generic page for sites Under Construction for web pages written using more complex language.
- Display Static Under Construction Page – A generic page for sites Under Construction for web pages written in HTML.
- Use Other NameServers - Allows you to use third-party DNS. Please see Managing DNS and Advanced DNS Records in NameSecure for instructions on updating your name servers.
Note: You must be on NameSecure’s name servers to use these functionalities. Changes will take up to 24 hours to propagate throughout the entire web.
Within the Email Settings tab, you can purchase, upgrade, or edit existing email boxes in your account.
Please select from the options below:
Add Email Boxes
To add email boxes to your account, follow these steps:
- Within the Email Settings tab, click the upgrade/purchase emailboxes button.
- Choose the number of mailboxes you would like to purchase.
- Click upgrade selected item.
- Within your shopping cart, click CHECKOUT.
You have purchased an email service. You can now set up mailboxes to your account. New accounts will take up to 96 hours to be fully active.
Update Email Boxes
To update existing email boxes, follow the steps below:
- Within the Email Settings tab, click Modify for the mailbox you want to update.
- The fields will be prepopulated with the current data. Click the On/Off radio buttons to activate or deactivate (temporarily) the mailbox.
- Enter the name you want to use in the Modify Mailbox field.
- Click Submit to save your changes.
These changes will take up to 2 hours to take effect.
Check Mail or Edit Preferences
To check your mail or edit your preferences, follow the steps below:
- Within the Email Settings tab, click Check Mail for the mailbox you want to update.
- You will be taken to a page where you can check your email and set the following:
- Email Password
- Email Signatures
- Vacation Responses
- External Email
- Mailbox Forwarding
Update Email Alias
An email alias is part of your email address before the @ sign (for example, in [email protected], example is your alias). To update your email alias, follow the steps below:
- Within the Email Settings tab, click edit next to the mailbox you want to update.
- Under Manage Alias, you can add up to 10 aliases.
- Click Save.
These changes will take up to 2 hours to take effect.
Within the Domain History tab, you will see the changes made to your domain (for example, domain renewal, disabling Lock-Protect, etc.)
Your zone files contain the records for your domain stored on a server. Within the Zone File Control tab, you have the following options:
- View Zone Files – You will see your current Zone Files at the top.
- Edit Zone Files – Click the edit zone file button to add, remove, or modify zone files. Check out the Managing DNS and Advanced DNS Records in NameSecure article for instructions.
- Register Name Servers – Click the register name server button to set up Custom DNS for your domain. Please see Managing DNS and Advanced DNS Records in NameSecure for instructions.
- You must be on NameSecure’s DNS to use the Zone File settings.
- If you set up Custom DNS, you will now be responsible for your zone files, which is outside the scope of NameSecure’s support.
Within the Manage Web Hosting tab, you can add or manage your hosting services.
If you want to purchase a Web hosting service with NameSecure, click the add namesecure web hosting button. Once you have successfully purchased web hosting, you can go to the control panel by following the steps below:
- Log in to your NameSecure account.
- Click the domain you would like to manage.
- Select the Manage Web hosting tab.
You have accessed the Hosting Control Panel, where you can use different tools to get started.
