Ecommerce Online Store - Design - Category Page Layout Editor

Overview

The Category Page Layout Editor allows you to specify how your categories and subcategories will be viewed when selected by your customers. The default category page layout displays three columns and 10 rows of product for each category. You can clone this default Category Page Layout to create layout that you can then edit or create a new blank category page layout. The Category Page Layout is controlled through the nsScript functions.

Creating a New Category Page Layout

While you can create a new blank category page layout, we recommend that you clone the existing predefined category page layout and edit the resulting layout. This will allow you to make minor changes without having to create a whole new layout from scratch.

How to Create a Category Page Layout

1. In the Design tab, click the Category Page Layout button. This will open the Category Layout Manager.

2. Click the Clone button next to "Predefined Category Layout".

3. Click the Edit button next to "Predefined Category Layout-1". This will open the Category Page Layout Editor.

Another way is to enter the new category layout name in the Layout Name textbox and click the Create & Edit button. This will open the Category Page Layout Editor.

4. Enter the desired changes in the Layout HTML Editor. The nsScript drop-down contains the nsScripts available for the layout.

5. Once you have made your changes, click the Save or Save & Return button to save the layout.

6. On the Page Layout Manager, click the Activate button to activate the new layout.

7. To view the layout on the storefront, click the View Storefront button in the upper right section of the control panel, then select one of your categories.
