Self-managed VPS hosting FAQ

The Network Solutions' self-managed VPS hosting is designed to provide full administrative root access and high-speed storage performance at a cost-effective price point. Our unmanaged plans empower you to create a custom environment, eliminating the overhead of managed services while offering total configuration flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do Network Solutions Self-managed VPS support a load balancer for multi VPS server?

    • Although we don't offer a load balancer, you could set up a load balancer yourself on a VPS and then connect other virtual private servers together through it

  2. Will I have GRUB access to swap the kernel itself if a module requires a newer version than what ships with the OS template? And is there any restriction on which kernel modules are blocked at the hypervisor level?

    • We have fully separate KVM-based Virtual Machines with full GRUB access as opposed to containerized environments or any technologies that limit kernels from the hypervisor. If you are familiar with kernel installation and toolsets, you can trade out any kernel, kernel module, or GRUB config you like.

  3. Can I  install CyberPanel (free cPanel) on VPS?

    • You can install anything you like depending on your needs and knowledge.  We offer some free cPanel alternatives as one-click installs including aaPanel and CloudPanel.  We're working on adding CyberPanel soon.
