How to Set Up Email in Outlook 2016?

Microsoft Outlook 2016 is part of the Office 2016 suite, used primarily for managing emails, calendars, contacts, and tasks. It supports various email protocols, integrates with other Office applications, and includes security features to protect against spam and phishing.

Email Account Setup

Follow the instructions below to set up an email account with Outlook 2016:

  1. Open Outlook on your computer and click on File in the top left corner.

  2. Click Add Account to begin the email setup process in Outlook.

  4. Enter your password, which is also used to log in to Webmail.
  5. Click Connect to continue.

    Setting POP IMAP

    Incoming Port: 110 (or 995 with SSL enabled)

    SSL (Optional): Enabled or Disabled
    Outgoing Server Authentication: Enabled
    Outgoing Server: smtp.domain.com
    Outgoing Port: 587 (or 465 with SSL enabled)
    Note: If 587 is not working for the Outgoing Port, try using port 25 instead.

  6. Click Done to complete the setup.
    Your email account is now set up in Outlook, but you must add an extra setting to ensure all emails are correctly delivered to their respective folders.
  7. Click on File again.

  8. Select the email account whose settings you wish to verify from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
  9. Click Account Settings.
  10. Select Account Name and Sync Settings in the drop-down menu that appears.

  11. In the Folder settings, enter INBOX as the Root folder path, using all capital letters.
  12. Click Next to save your settings.
