How to Enable SMART PATCH in your SiteLock Dashboard

It is still very important to update your website when new versions are released, but this tool provides an essential layer of protection.

Scan Summary

The SMART Patch section will display the following latest scan details:

  • Scan time - The latest scan date is shown in Central Time Zone (UTC-6).
  • Status - Indicates the current scan status: "Verified" or "Non-Compliant."
  • Patch Status - Indicates the patch status: "Warning Only," "Success," or "Failed."
  • Action - The action of the scan: "Patch" or "Revert."
  • Patched - The number of instances patched. 
  • Reverted - The number of patches reverted.
  • Vulnerabilities - The number of vulnerabilities detected.

If vulnerabilities are detected but automatic patching is disabled, a Patch Now button will be displayed.

Revert Patch: Users can revert a successful patch if necessary. A red Revert Patch button appears, followed by a confirmation pop-up.

Accessing the SiteLock Dashboard

If you purchased SiteLock directly from their website, please log in at http://sitelock.com/. If you purchased SiteLock through us, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Network Solutions® Account Manager via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. From the left-hand menu, click the Security tab.

  3. Depending on the number of Security packages in your account, the Security section's interface may look slightly different. Full descriptions of each feature are discussed below.
     
    • If you only have one Security package, you will be taken directly to the SiteLock Overview page.

    • If you have multiple Security packages, click the Manage button on the package you need to modify.
  4. Lastly, click the Manage Sitelock button to open the SiteLock Dashboard.

Configuring the SMART PATCH Scanner

Provided you have already accessed the SiteLock Dashboard, follow the instructions below to configure SMART PATCH settings.

  1. Navigate to your Site Settings.

    If you have a single website, click the Site Settings tab in the top menu.

    If you have multiple websites, click Sites in the left menu, then click on Manage next to the website you want to configure.

  2. Under Site Settings, click on Scanning Preferences on the left and then select SMART PATCH.

  3. Select your preferred setup.
    • Scan and patch automatically - This will automatically patch issues the scan finds.
    • Scan automatically but do not patch - (Default setting) This scan will find outdated content but will not apply patches.
    • Turn off scanning - This disables the scanning and reporting feature.

  4. Click the Save Changes button.
