How do you use Admin Console in Google Workspace?

In addition to all the features regularly available for any Google Workspace User, administrators have access to unique controls that allow them to manage and restrict Google Workspace for all users associated with their domain. Google has prepared extensive documentation to help administrators effectively manage their accounts.

Why does my Google Workspace show a temporary domain name instead of my own?

Every Google Workspace account is assigned a temporary default domain in the following format:

mydomain.com.c-XXXXXXXX.appstempdomain.goog

The c-XXXXXXXX portion is a unique Google identifier for your account. Under normal circumstances, this temporary domain remains hidden, and your own domain name is used across Google Workspace services. If you see the temporary domain instead of your own, it usually means Google can no longer verify ownership of your primary domain.

This most commonly happens when:

  • The DNS verification record was removed or changed (for example, during a website migration, DNS provider change, or domain transfer).
  • The domain was originally verified under a different Google Workspace account.
  • Your domain registration has expired.

If you're seeing an "unverified" warning or your services aren't working, it's because something changed in your DNS zone that removed Google's verification record.

How to fix it?

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin Console.
  2. Go to Account > Domains > Manage domains.
  3. Complete the verification steps.
  4. Google will provide a TXT verification record.
  5. Add the TXT record to your domain's DNS settings
  6. Wait for the DNS changes to propagate. Once Google detects the verification record, your domain will be verified again, and the temporary domain will no longer be used.

Is there a List of Supported Browsers?
