Why is this important?

Updating your platform will allow us to continue providing you with secure service that improves performance. This includes updates to the email settings in your email applications and changes to the products and services currently offered.

Note: Due to increased attacks and security vulnerabilities in previous years, we will no longer support TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1. To ensure your continued data safety, we will be updating support to TLS version 1.2. This version provides a secure connection that will improve the security of your mailboxes.

What do I need to do?

There are two phases: the platform update and then the platform migration. Visit each phase to learn more.

Platform update

Beginning June 30, 2022, you were required to take an additional step when making updates, such as adding a domain name, managing an email address, or updating your spam filter. Any updates to your Hosted Exchange Services require you to log in to your Boundary Defense Control Panel and make the changes there as well to avoid interruptions with your email.

Platform migration

In September 2022, you were migrated to your new platform with an upgraded control panel. This platform does not require you to take the additional step any longer.

For the migration, there are a few resources that will guide you through this process and answer all your questions. The most important thing you will need to do is update your Advanced DNS records and email software for the migration. Visit the Hosted Exchange migration steps for the required steps you need to take before and on the day of the migration.

Warning: If you do not complete the migration steps, you could experience interruptions with your service.

Review

The Hosted Exchange platform update and migration are essential to enhance your email security and performance. While the update requires some initial extra steps, the migration to the new platform simplifies management and strengthens protections by upgrading to TLS 1.2. Following the migration steps carefully will ensure a smooth transition without service interruptions.
