How to Validate and Issue Site Seal

Before you can display Site Seal on your website, you must first complete the validation steps and get it issued.

To validate and issue Site Seal, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Account Manager. 
  2. On the left side of the page, click Security.
    • Select the product you wish to manage if you have more than one Site Seal in your account. 

  3. Assign the appropriate domain name to Site Seal.
  4. Complete the necessary validation information and documentation steps depending on whether you are issuing to a business or an individual.  
    • You will be asked to provide certain documents for Site Seal to be validated and issued. (See Validation for Business Orders or Validation for Individual Orders for required documentation)

      Note: We cannot begin the validation process until you provide all information required. Once we have received all required documents, the validation process will take 2 to 4 business days to complete. We cannot issue your Site Seal until the validation process is completed.

  5. Once you have filled out the validation information, submit your request to be reviewed.
  6. After Site Seal has been validated and issued, you will be able to generate the Site Seal code and install it on your website.

Validation for Business Orders

We will attempt to verify the following information online: 

  • WHOIS information for your domain name registration (Please note that the domain name registrant's information must match the information for the applicant to whom the certificate is being issued.)
  • Articles of Incorporation 
  • Dun & Bradstreet number   

If we are unable to locate this information online, we will ask you to fax (866-294-0799) or e-mail ([email protected]) it to us before we can complete your validation. We may also request additional documentation, which may include, but is not limited to: 

  • Bank statements, utility bills, or telephone bills in the business name 
  • Government-issued business license 

Validation for Individual Orders

You must fax 866-294-0799 or e-mail [email protected] the following information to Network Solutions® before we can complete your validation:

  • Copy of a valid driver's license or valid passport issued to the domain name registrant. 
  • Copy of a recent phone bill belonging to the domain name registrant. 
  • Copy of a utility bill or bank statement belonging to the domain name registrant. 
Note: The term for Site Seal will begin on the issued date or 90 days post-purchase if it has not yet been issued.

 

How to Generate and Install the Site Seal Code

Once Site Seal has been validated and issued, you can generate the Site Seal code via the Account Manager.

To generate and install the Site Seal code, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. On the left side of the page, click Security.
3. Select the Site Seal you wish to manage. 

4. Select the Site Seal design, including the color and layout from the options present. 
5. Click Generate Code
6. Copy the code, go to your website files, and insert the code in the location(s) you wish to display the Site Seal.  

Note: Inserting the code into your website files will require you to modify the source code of your web pages. Please consult your website developer for assistance if you are not familiar with editing website coding. If you do not have a website developer, you can choose to enlist our paid support option via MyTime Support to assist with this charge.
