ActiveSync Email Setup

You can enable ActiveSync for:
Enable ActiveSync for One or Multiple Users
- Log in to the Control Panel.
- Go to Services, then select Mailboxes.
- Click the checkbox in the ActiveSync column for the required users.
- Click the Proceed button, then Confirm.
You have enabled ActiveSync for one or multiple users.
Enable ActiveSync for a Particular User
- Log in to the Control Panel.
- Go to Users, then click on the Display Name of the user.
- Select Exchange, then click ActiveSync under Optional Services.
- Click the Enable ActiveSync button.
You have enabled ActiveSync for a particular user.
Set ActiveSync to Enable Automatically when Creating a User
- Log in to the Control Panel.
- Go to Services, then select Mailboxes.
- Click Mobile, then select ActiveSync.
- Check if the setting on top of the table states, "ActiveSync is automatically enabled for newly created Exchange users." If not, click on the Edit link, then check the box that says, "Automatically enable ActiveSync for newly created Exchange users." Click the Save changes button.
Note: The device limit in Exchange 2013/2016 is set to 100. However, there is a maximum of 10 concurrent connections to each mailbox.
You have set ActiveSync to automatically enable when creating a user.

For iOS 14/15/16: Tap Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account
For iOS 12/13: Tap Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add Account
For iOS 11: Tap Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Add Account
For iOS 10: Tap Settings > Mail > Account > Add Account - On the Add Account screen, select Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your email address and password, then hit Next.
- The device will configure the Exchange server address automatically.
If the server address cannot be determined, you will be asked to enter it.- Server name: Enter your Exchange Proxy server name. To find your server name within the Control Panel, go to Services > Mailboxes > Mobile > ActiveSync page.
- Domain: If your iPhone is iOS 12 or higher, type in your Exchange domain name as shown on the ActiveSync page. If it is iOS 11 or below, leave the field blank.
- Username: Type in the full email address or ActiveSync username (either one should work).
- The device offers to synchronize with the Exchange server immediately.
- Hit Save to complete the setup.
Note: Not all Exchange features are supported (for example, public folders, shared folders/calendars, and folder management).
You have set up ActiveSync on your iPhone.
The following settings are required to set up ActiveSync on your mobile device:

Users may stay connected to their personal or professional email accounts wherever they go using ActiveSync's mobile email access and management solution. Users may take advantage of mobile email's efficiency and simplicity by using ActiveSync, which keeps them responsive and organized even while on the go.
Moreover, any contacts or calendar entries added after ActiveSync was set up will sync to Webmail. You will be able to log into Webmail and see them. However, any items that existed on your phone before you set up ActiveSync will not sync up to the server.
One exception is with iPhone contacts or calendars synced with iCloud rather than saved to the device. ActiveSync will not sync any information stored with iCloud rather than locally on the device.
Note: The instructions below were created using a Samsung phone. There are a variety of android devices running different software or operating systems. Please contact your provider for assistance if the following steps do not work for you.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Select Add Account, then choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
- Enter your primary email address and password.
Note: If you have an Autodiscover record that is compatible with the Exchange server setup, hit Next. Your email account settings will populate automatically. If the settings are populated incorrectly, or you do not have that record, click Manual setup.
- Type in the settings:
- Email address - Type your email address.
- Domain/Username - Type your EXCH domain/Canonical user name. You can find this in your Control Panel. Go to Users, click the Display Name of a particular user, select Exchange, then ActiveSync.
- Password – Enter your mailbox password.
- Exchange server – Enter the Exchange Proxy Server. To find your server name, go to Services > Mailboxes > Mobile > ActiveSync page.
- Use Secure connection (SSL) – Check this option.
- Use client certificate – Do not check this option.
- Click Sign In. You will be asked for information about the following:
- Administrators – You can find them in your Control Panel. Go to Home, then select Exchange Servers and Settings.
- Users – To find your users, go to your Control Panel. Click My Services, then select ActiveSync.
- Click Next.
- Accept the security prompt.
You have set up ActiveSync on your Android device.
- Go to Settings, then select Accounts.
- Click on Email & app accounts, then choose Add an Account.
- Select Exchange.
- Enter the user's email address and mailbox password on the next screen. Then, click Sign in.
If you do not have the Autodiscover record added to your domain, you must enter the following information:
- User name – The user’s email address.
- Domain – This is optional.
- Tap Sign in. A prompt saying that something went wrong will appear. Click on Advanced.
- Add the following information on the next screen:
- Server – Enter your Exchange Proxy Server. To find your server name within your Control Panel, go to Services > Mailboxes > Mobile > ActiveSync page.
- Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection – Check this box.
- Click the Sign In button to complete the setup.
You have set up ActiveSync on your Windows phone.
- Tap Settings on your Home Screen.
- Select Accounts.
- Scroll down and tap Advanced, then select Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync.
- Enter your email address.
- Type in the settings. If you have just enabled ActiveSync, the user will receive a notification email with all the settings. Otherwise, follow the instructions below:
- Description - Any descriptive name of your email account.
- Domain – Leave this field blank.
- Username - Email address of the user’s Exchange mailbox.
- Email address – The primary email address of your Exchange mailbox.
- Password – Your Exchange mailbox password.
- Server Address - To find out the correct server address:
- Administrators – Within your Control Panel, go to Home, select ActiveSync, then Server Name.
- Users - Within your Control Panel, go to My Services, choose ActiveSync, then Server Name.
- Port – Enter 443.
- SSL and Push – Turn on.
- VPN - Turn off.
- Sync timeframe - Set to the maximum possible value.
- Choose folders to synchronize with the device by enabling the toggle switch.
You have set up ActiveSync on your BlackBerry device.
