Guide to Cloud Mail General Settings
In your Cloud Mail general settings, you can customize your themes, language & time zone, quick launch icons, and more. Learn how you can set each setting according to your liking.

How to Access the General Settings
Follow the steps below to access your basic cloud email settings:
- Log into webmail via mail.domain.ext (for example, if your domain name is example.com, enter mail.example.com in any browser).
- On the upper right corner of the screen, click on the gear icon, then All Settings.
- On the left navigation menu, select General.
You have accessed your general cloud email settings.
How to Update the Theme
- When you go to your General Settings, the Theme section will open by default.
- From here, you can modify your background color. You can only choose one background and cannot choose an accent color if you choose white as your background. Also, some backgrounds you choose will automatically have an accent color that you can change according to your liking.
- Default – choose from white, smoke gray, solarized, and dark (dark mode).
- Images – choose scenery as your background, such as mountains, beach, ocean, landscape, flowers, or city.
- Sunsets – choose from different shades of sunset, such as blue sunset, pink sunset, orange glow, or the original color of sunset.
- Unicolor – select a unicolor, such as red, orange, yellow, green, and more.
- Washed out – unlike unicolor, a washed-out color lacks contrast or saturation. Choose a red, green, blue, indigo, or pink washed-out color as your background.
- Default – choose from white, smoke gray, solarized, and dark (dark mode).
How to Update the Language & Time Zone
Follow these steps to modify your language & time zone settings:
- Within the General settings, go to Language & Time zone.
- Select a language you want to use for your mailbox by clicking the Language drop-down. The default language will be English (United States).
- To customize the regional settings, click the Customize date and time formats button.
- Update the following information as desired:
- Time format – select a time format within a 12 to 24-hour range.
- Date format – select how you want the date on your email or calendar to look.
- Number format – modify the appearance of numbers according to your liking without changing the actual number.
- First day of the week – this will serve as the first day of every week in your calendar.
- First week of the year – this will serve as the first week of a whole year in your calendar.
- To update your time zone, click on the Time zone drop-down.
- Once done with updating your Language & Time zone settings, you will be asked to reload your page. Hit the Reload page button.
- After reloading, your settings will be saved.
How to Update the Quick Launch Icons
Follow the steps below to set up your favorite apps in Cloud Mail.
- Within the General settings, go to Apps.
- Select an app you want to see first every time you log in to Cloud Mail. Choose an app from the Start app drop-down.
- Next, to set up which apps you want to see on the upper-left portion of your webmail every time you log in, click the Configure quick launch bar button.
- Set how you want to position your applications. We will use the following apps as our example:

How to View Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts allow you to execute functions more quickly by pressing a combination of keys consecutively or simultaneously.
- Within the General settings, go to Keyboard shortcuts.
- You can select a profile you want to use by clicking on the radio buttons for Business Email, Gmail, or Outlook.com or turn them off by choosing the Disable keyboard shortcuts radio button.
How to Modify the Advanced Settings
Define the interval for retrieving new data from the server and create categories within your Advanced Settings.
- Within the General settings, go to Advanced settings.
- You will have the following options:
- Select a refresh interval from the drop-down menu.
- Create categories with which you can mark emails, appointments, contacts, or tasks. Click the Manage categories button.
