How to Merge User IDs

What does merging User IDs mean? If you have multiple User IDs for different accounts registered with Network Solutions, you can merge them to access all accounts under one User ID. There are many benefits to merging accounts, as it will bring all your web hosting plans and domain names into a central location.

Things to Consider Before Merging User IDs

When merging User IDs, you must first decide which User ID to keep and which User ID to merge into the one you want to keep. You will also need to prepare the passwords for each User ID, as you will use them during the merging process. Merging your accounts will not change any domain registration or payment method associated to your accounts.

Important items to take note when merging user IDs:
 
  • Merging user IDs is irreversible.
  • If you have more than two User IDs to merge, you must first merge two, then repeat the process with any remaining User IDs.
  • Once the User IDs are merged, the primary, admin, and technical roles associated with the losing user ID will transfer to the gaining user ID.
  • All products and services will be transferred to the gaining user ID. The payment method will be retained and will remain linked to your products and services.
  • There will be no changes to domain ownership, and all services will operate without disruptions. However, please be aware that social logins linked to the losing user ID will no longer be accessible.

 

Steps to Merge User Accounts or User IDs

Follow the steps below to merge your User IDs.

  1. Log in to your account via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. Once logged in, click the person icon on the upper right corner of your Account Manager.
  3. Select My Profile.

  4. On the My Profile & Security page, click the MERGE USER ID button.

  5. Enter the login credentials for the User ID you want to merge with your current user ID.

  6. Select the User ID you want to keep, then click CONTINUE.

  7. Review the account information to merge, the login credentials you will use once you log in to your account, and your security settings.
     
    Important: Merging your user IDs cannot be undone. The other user ID, including any additional login credentials, will be deleted from our systems.
  8. Check the "Yes, I want to merge this User IDs" box to confirm that you want to merge the User IDs, then click MERGE.

  9. A prompt will appear to notify you of the merge status. If successful, you can check your accounts and products in the Accounts & Users section of your Account Manager.
