Set up Additional Passwords for Applications in Cloud Mail

Want to boost your email security in Cloud Mail? It's easy to set up additional passwords for applications in Cloud Mail! This means you can keep your account extra safe by giving each app its own unique password. Plus, you'll have more control over who can access your email and what they can do.

Important: This article applies to customers with Cloud Mail. To determine your email version, see How Do I Determine My Email Platform?

The following are your options:

Create a New Password for a Specific App

  1. Log in to your email via mail.domain.ext. For example, if your domain name is example.com, you will need to enter mail.example.com in any browser.
  2. On the right side of the page, click the gear icon. Next, select All settings.

  3. Click Security on the left menu, then go to Application Passwords.

  4. Next, click on the Application drop-down menu. Select which app you want to add a password to.

  5. You can name this password by entering the preferred name in the Password name field.
  6. Once done, click the Add new password button.

  7. You will see a pop-up containing the username and the automatically generated password. You can use these credentials to sign into the selected app.

Important: It is highly advised to take note of the automatically generated password. The message will only be shown on your screen once. Once you close the pop-up, you will not be able to view the password again.

Delete Existing Application Passwords

  1. Log in to your email via mail.domain.ext. For example, if your domain name is example.com, you will need to enter mail.example.com in any browser.
  2. On the right side of the page, click the gear icon. Next, select All settings.

  3. Click Security on the left menu, then go to Application Passwords.
    Click Security, then click Application Passwords

  4. Next to the password, click the x icon under Existing passwords. To remove a password for a specific app.
    Click the x icon next to the password

  5. Click the Delete button once the message pops up.
    Click Delete
Note: To sign into the selected app in the future, either use your Cloud Mail credentials or create a new password for this app again.
