How to Whitelist and Blacklist Email Addresses in Cloud Mail

Struggling to manage your inbox between unwanted spam and important emails disguised as spam? Cloud Mail offers powerful tools called Allowlists and Blocklists specifically designed for this situation. This guide will walk you through how to whitelist and blacklist email addresses, ensuring you receive only the emails you want.

Important: This article applies to customers with Cloud Mail. To determine your email version, see How Do I Determine My Email Platform?

With Cloud Mail, you can whitelist and blacklist email addresses where you manage the incoming emails that you want to receive when:

  • You have too many spam emails in your inbox.
  • You are missing essential emails that display spam characteristics.

Whitelist and Blacklist Email Addresses

Email addresses can be marked safe or blocked using the Allowlist and Blocklist features available only in Cloud Mail. If there are any safe or blocked features in your email, the client won't update these lists. If you keep receiving spam emails, you can add that email sender to your Blocklist, so emails from that user will not reach your mailbox. However, if you expect to receive an email that displays spam characteristics, i.e., subscription emails, make sure to add the sender to your Allowlist.

All emails from senders who are recorded on the allowlist are treated as follows:

Important: Several security measures are bypassed when making entries into the allowlist/whitelist. Be cautious when adding emails or domain names to the allowlist – only include those that you completely trust!
  1. Open a new window in your browser.
  2. In the address bar, type mail.<your domain name>.<your domain extension>.
For example, if your domain is janesbagels and your domain extension is .com, you should type mail.janesbagels.com in the address bar.
  3. Enter your login credentials on the login page.
  4. Click the Sign In button.
An additional page will appear if you have enabled 2-Step Verification. Enter the authentication data on this page.
  5. In the upper right corner of your Cloud Mail, click the gear icon beside your user profile, then click All Settings.
